Why You Need to Outsource in your Photography Business

I know that your photography business is your baby. I also know that you are always busy. There are so many aspects of running a photography business that need constant attention. From scheduling sessions and weddings to traveling and editing. There is A LOT that goes into a photography business. Then, on top of that there is social media and marketing and blogging and websites and SEO. It never ends. Just like an actual baby, sometimes you need a little help. And that doesn’t make you less capable or weak. It allows you to fulfill your needs, set healthy boundaries, and helps you to prepare for the long term. Not to mention the ROI that is bound to come with it. The work you do is invaluable. You deserve support that brings you more of what you value.

Marketing as a Photographer

Social media is an amazing tool that lets you easily connect with potential clients, but can be so overwhelming, especially with the constant changes. Handing off some social media planning or hashtag optimization, or caption writing, or even content creation to a social media manager can take a huge chunk of social media off of your plate.

But here’s the thing. Social media marketing is a short-term marketing plan. It requires lots of time and effort that you just might not have the space for. It is so easy to feel that instagram overwhelm and get burnt out from constantly creating content. Long term solutions like Pinterest and Blog marketing are perfect for photographers. It allows you to free up some of your time and get back to using instagram as a fun way to share your work and connect with your audience, because that is what it should be.

Blogging, copywriting, and other tools

People LOVE knowing about how your past sessions have gone, what it's like behind the scenes, tips and tricks, understanding your personality—a blog is an AWESOME way to let them know all of that before they even talk to you, and has loads of other benefits (yes, even in 2022). Having a blog can convert leads to clients. It also can provide the invaluable benefits of ranking higher on search engines. Outsourcing can mean it is all done for you. Formatting, graphic creation, SEO, written copy, culling, resizing, keyword research, all complete without lifting a finger. You have so many other things to do that are vital to your business, hiring someone to run your blog gives you the best of both worlds. You get to be Hannah Montana. You have valuable content on your website, get inquiries from Google, and more—all without spending all of your precious time learning how to do it all the right way.

Pinterest marketing

I can not express how important Pinterest marketing is to a well rounded marketing strategy for photographers.

Pinterest is where your clients are. Pinterest is where people are hoping to find their perfect fit. It is all things inspiration and perfect for optimization. I could go on and on about how it is especially right for photographers, but I digress.

You could spend months learning the ins and outs of Pinterest strategy and even more time following through with it and adjusting to the tools and formats. Would it be worth it? Would it be worth extra time doing work instead of doing things that make you feel alive? Would it be worth the time that you could have spent learning about composition, posing experience, comparing equipment, editing, location scouting, spending time with your family? I can tell you right now, a strong Pinterest strategy is worth a LOT, but is that what you want? Is it worth it to you give up all of those things for it? To blur the lines of your work and life boundaries? Is it the right way for you to market your business?

That is why outsourcing is so valuable. It allows you to manipulate time. You can get the benefits of a well built blog, of a strong social media presence, of an immaculate Pinterest strategy, of your own editing standards, or whatever else it is that you are outsourcing, without having to lose your own time. It is as close as you can get to having more hours in the day.
