The Magic of Outsourcing

Manipulating time and value beyond belief—There is Everyday Magic in Outsourcing

Maybe I am a romantic or cliche or whatever, but I like to imagine that there is at least a little bit of magic in everything. In business sometimes it is difficult to see the magic, but there is something especially magical about outsourcing.

Outsourcing to an Expert

At least for me, there has always been this kind of dark cloud around outsourcing. It was seen as looming, as tragic. The word is often used to refer to cheaper labor or people losing their jobs. Unfortunately, that is what outsourcing means sometimes. BUT outsourcing to an expert for certain tasks (especially for smaller businesses) can mean benefiting from other people’s experience, tasks magically being finished, and more without having to actually add an employee to your business. You can actually manipulate time. You actually get more hours in your day, and what might take you MONTHS to learn to do effectively could be done in minutes by an expert.

For the one-woman-show, woman-owned business, girl boss, female entrepreneur world, outsourcing is a business saver. As women, we sometimes have an “I can do it all” or “it’s scary to invest in my business baby” attitude. Which is so valid. But, the everyday magic we can bring into our world when we outsource is being wasted.

Outsourcing to experts means no more drowning in the everything of running a business by yourself. And it doesn’t always make sense to make the commitment of hiring an employee. Hiring a service provider is a magical in-between where you can get the benefits of a team member without the full financial and legal burden of an employee.

What can we outsource?

Virtual Assistants add a special kind of magic (maybe I am biased) to a business because most of us can take on a variety of different tasks. I, for example, offer tasks ranging from blog formatting to graphic design to data entry to photo editing to social media management. I have expertise in a variety of fields and can use my experience to your advantage.

You can outsource virtually anything. All of those little tasks that you dread in your day to day? The bookkeeping, the social media, the blog upkeep, the taxes, the course setup, the email funnels, the copywriting, the Pinterest management, the branding, the photography, anything that is not your forte—you can save yourself so much time, effort, and headaches. There are so many people out there waiting to help you run your business with ease!

What makes outsourcing magical?

There is magic in having professionals working on projects with you, people who have such a deep knowledge and understanding of their field. The glimmer of passion, the spark of creativity, the little bit of love they can leave with your business. There is everyday magic in having a part of your job, your project, your workload, completed by someone else.

Outsourcing in business is a little bit like going out to eat or getting your hair or nails done. These are all things that you physically could do for yourself, but the outcome is usually a superior end result when it’s done by someone else. There is that mystical feeling of another thing ticked off of your to-do list without you having to lift a finger (unless, of course, it is for someone else to paint a little flower on it).
